A special Steiff bear commissioned exclusively for Christie's. Christie's and Steiff are pleased to announce the arrival of 'James,' a fine character bear made to Steiff's exacting standards. Based on a 1908 Steiff teddy bear, the first to ever visit Christie's, James commemorates the 25th anniversary of the opening of Christie's South Kensington. His 'button in the ear' is uniquely made of sterling silver and he comes with a millennium-hallmarked silver Christie's medal. |
